We also offer Sun and Sport frames to protect your eyes from the UV damage and all your favorite physical activities.

Lenses

At Germantown Vision Care Center, we offer a full service optical shop, including products from top manufacturers such as Zeiss and Varilux.

Some of our product offerings include:

Digital Single Vision Lenses: Single vision lenses only correct for one distance such as distance, computer, or reading. Traditional lenses only have a small portion of the lens optimized for your prescription called the optical center, which results in decreased vision when looking out of the peripheral part of the lenses or causes the distortion/fish bowl effect. With digital single vision lenses, your prescription is optimized in all parts of the lens to help you see your best and eliminate distortions.

Customized Digital Progressive Lenses: Progressive lenses help provide clear vision in the distance, intermediate, and near range of vision. Customized digital progressive take into account your vertical and horizontal measurement, your frame shape and size, and where the frame sits on your face. This leads to a custom tailored visual experience, minimizing peripheral distortion and making the switch to progressive lenses a simple process.

Digital Computer Progressive Lenses: With everyone increasingly spending their day at computer and other electronic devices, computer progressive lenses are optimized for all day comfort providing with clear, comfortable vision for long hours on all your favorite devices.

Premium Anti-Reflective/No Glare Coatings: We offer premium anti-reflective coatings which eliminate reflections on the surfaces of the lenses and helps more light to enter your eye, improving your vision in low light conditions such as night driving. Anti-reflective coating also include UV and blue light protection, increase scratch resistance and durability, and make the lenses easier to clean.

Polarized Sunglasses: We highly recommend polarized sunglasses which have a special filter to help eliminate glare from surfaces such as water, cars, and snow. Polarized sunglasses will make your eyes more comfortable outside and increase the safety of driving when the sun is rising or setting.

Polycarbonate Lenses: Polycarbonate is lighter and thinner than traditional plastic. It offers 100% UV protection and impact resistance. These benefits make it the best lens material for most mild to moderate prescriptions.

Trivex Lenses: Similar to polycarbonate, it is lighter and thinner than traditional plastic, and also offers UV protection and impact resistance. However, trivex offers superior optical quality for mild to moderate prescriptions.

Hi-Index Lenses: Hi-Index lenses are best for patients with high prescriptions. These are the thinnest and lightest lenses, which will improve the cosmetic appearance of the lenses dramatically.

Transition/Photochromic Lenses: These are the lenses that turn into sunglasses when you go outside. They offer the convenience of a single pair of prescription glasses that also offer sun protection, without needing to carry a second pair of glasses. They also protect your eyes by blocking 100% of UV rays and filtering blue light.

Blue light lenses: Blue light filtering lenses are designed to filter out a portion of blue light from electronics and the natural environment. Some research indicates blocking blue light may help those with difficulty sleeping improve their sleep. Other potential benefits include reduced eye strain and dry eye symptoms. Blue light filtering can be achieved through the lens materials or coatings on the lenses.
